The Darjeeling Limited

The Darjeeling limited is a Drama/Comedy movie released in October 2005. It was directed by the multi-award winning Wes Anderson, who brought us such films as; Bottle Rocket (1996), The Royal Tenembaums (2001) and the very funny Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), so we all knew we were in for another Wes style flick.

I really enjoyed this movie as I did with all his other films. Wes' movie's are all very unique each one showing his very own style. His movie's also all seem to have very unique soundtracks. In the Life Aquatic we saw a very unusual song list with all sorts of things like elevator music to David Bowie sung in Portuguese!

The Darjeeling Limited also has a interesting soundtrack it features a mixture of both western music such as The Kinks and The Rolling Stones and Eastern Music that is is mainly unheard of in the Western world. The film itself is about 3 American brothers who have not spoken to each in years who set off to India to become brothers "like they used to be" on a spiritual and bonding adventure through India. As you can see the story line is very unique and is not your usual film, which I personally really like. The music he has chosen for this films really suites it, he has put two completely different styles of music together in one movie and it really makes a nice contrast. It fits the storyline perfectly too.

The Darjeeling Limited Sound Track is out now and is a really good pick. I really like it because it definitely not the sort of music that you hear on the radio and is a good way of discovering some unheard of talent.
